I want to settle down and have kids but "Object for sex" tag affecting me - Efia Odo

Ghanaian actress and socialite Efia Odo has opened up about her desire to settle down and start a family, highlighting a significant obstacle: some men perceive her solely as a sexual object.

In a recent interview, she expressed her frustration, stating, "As I grow older, I yearn for a meaningful relationship and children. Unfortunately, people often think of one thing when it comes to me—sex."

Efia noted that even innocent interactions with men, including male artists, are frequently misinterpreted. “Whenever I'm seen with a male, whether it’s an artist or a friend, people assume I’m romantically involved with them. It feels like I can’t even have male friends because many of them would want to have sex with me if given the chance,” she explained.

She cited her friendship with King Promise, whom she knew before his rise to fame, as an example. “Even with King Promise, whom I knew before he became popular, people automatically assume we had a sexual relationship just because we’re acquainted. I even argued with a guy I was dating over this.”

Efia expressed concern that ongoing speculation about her relationships could impact her future. She mentioned being forced to resign from her position at Eats Avenue due to rumors of a romantic involvement with the owner. “As a woman, if I settle down and people continue to attach negative connotations to my interactions, it will affect me deeply,” she stated.
