Bobrisky detained by police after unsuccessful attempt to escape Nigeria.

Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, a popular cross-dresser, spent Monday night at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Alagbon, Lagos. According to Vanguard, Bobrisky was arrested by officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) while attempting to flee Nigeria through the Seme border at around 1:30 a.m.

It is possible that he will remain in detention for another night as detectives continue to investigate the case. The FCID is expected to release an official statement regarding his detention today.

Sources at the FCID confirmed, “He was brought in last night by the NIS, where he spent the night. We are looking to obtain a remand order today.”

Kenneth Udo, a spokesperson for the NIS, confirmed Bobrisky’s arrest at the Seme border, identifying him as “a person of interest.”

In line with our duty to secure the nation’s borders, the NIS intercepted Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border while he was attempting to leave the country. He is being questioned and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.

The NIS remains committed to performing its duties professionally and ensuring the protection of the nation’s borders.
