On October 1, 2024, Darkovibes discussed his views on marijuana use during his appearance on 3FM Drive. He explained that many artists turn to cannabis primarily as a way to relax their minds after long recording sessions or when preparing for extensive performances.
We don’t walk around with stuff like that. It’s recreational. When we’re singing and recording for long stretches—sometimes for 24 or 48 hours—we use it to help cool our brains.

He also shared that his approach to authority has changed; he now willingly submits to searches, as he no longer carries marijuana in public.
They search me, and I even allow it because if I had a gun or knife, they could arrest me, but I don’t walk around with that.
Darkovibes explained. He referenced Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission Act 2020 (Act 1019), which permits the cultivation of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes.
While he doesn’t carry marijuana outside his home, Darkovibes believes complying with searches is a matter of principle. "I think it’s the right thing to do," he concluded, emphasizing his commitment to following the law while still enjoying the benefits of cannabis in a controlled and private setting.
