The cause of the vehicles being burned beyond recognition remains unclear. However, videos posted by the Ghana Fire Service on Facebook suggest that a burning electric pole may have ignited the fire that ultimately engulfed both vehicles.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), four individuals have been burned beyond recognition, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
At the time of this report, GNFS personnel were on-site, working to retrieve the deceased from the charred remains of the vehicles.
